Guide for Core Members: tasks, skills & goals for each department

When a General Member is promoted to Core Member, they are assigned to one of these departments. Each department gives role-specific tasks to learn, practice, and develop professional skills while building networks.

1. Sponsorship & Finance

Main focus

Financial planning, budgeting, fundraising, sponsor relations.

Core responsibilities

  • Prepare event budgets and contingency plans.
  • Create sponsorship proposals and promotional materials.
  • Negotiate benefits with sponsors and manage contracts.
  • Manage ticketing and income collection processes.
  • Maintain transparent financial records.
  • Produce post-event reports and sponsor acknowledgements.

Skills members will build

  • Budgeting, cashflow planning, basic accounting.
  • Professional pitching and negotiation.

2. HR & Member Development

Recruitment, training, welfare, and leadership development.

Core responsibilities
